Ex-Child Star Unrecognizable After He’s Found ‘Homeless’

A former Nickelodeon actor who appeared on a popular 2000s television series has been filmed living on the streets of California, prompting an emotional response from his former castmates.

Tylor Chase, 36, appeared in video footage captured in Riverside this September showing him in difficult circumstances.

The actor portrayed Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide during the show’s run in the 2000s.

The encounter began when a woman approached Chase and asked if he had been on the Disney Channel.

Chase corrected her, stating he had worked for Nickelodeon on Ned’s Declassified.

The woman recognized him from the show, and Chase confirmed his identity by providing his full name.

The video quickly spread across social media platforms.

Three of Chase’s former colleagues from the show responded to the footage during an episode of Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide on Sep. 24.

Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee and Lindsey Shaw addressed the situation publicly.

Lee described receiving the information earlier in the week as difficult to process.

He characterized the video as disturbing and expressed mixed feelings about the recording.

Lee stated he initially felt anger at the decision to film someone during a challenging period.

He then directed criticism at himself for feeling unable to help the situation effectively.

The actor explained he wanted to dismiss the footage initially, hoping Chase had simply been caught at an unfortunate moment. However, after viewing additional videos, Lee acknowledged his former colleague appeared to be experiencing significant difficulties.

Lee expressed faith in Chase’s ability to recover while acknowledging this perspective might represent hopeful thinking.

He indicated a desire to visit Chase in person but voiced concerns about potentially putting him in an uncomfortable position.

Shaw echoed Lee’s sentiments, stating she shared his perspective and wanted to see Chase face-to-face.

“You can’t do much, but I would love to go speak with him and just love on him and look him in the eye,” she said.

“I miss Tylor, I love Tylor so, so much.”

Werkheiser added his own thoughts, describing the situation as overwhelming and difficult to process.

He acknowledged the complexity of determining an appropriate course of action.

Despite discomfort with Chase being recorded during a vulnerable moment, Werkheiser suggested the woman who posted the video had good intentions.

“It is painful and shocking to see where he is currently at… it’s hard to see someone you know and love from a really special time, and a really sweet person, that this is where life has currently ended up, is hard, man,” he said.

Chase began his acting career in the early 2000s after growing up in Arizona, according to the Daily Mail.

His role as Qwerly remains his most recognized work.

Beyond Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Chase appeared in Everybody Hates Chris in 2005. He also played Young Adam in Good Time Max, a 2008 film starring James Franco.
