In a massive win for conservatives, Disney has removed “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” from its latest business report for the first time in six years.
Disney has suffered greatly after the entertainment conglomerate decided to incorporate “woke” agendas into its films, primarily aimed at children.
Movies such as “Snow White” took a massive nose-dive at the box office after producers decided to remove the famous dwarves in the film and instead use computer-generated images. The production team made this move to avoid implementing outdated stereotypes.
Nonetheless, “Snow White” is just one of many Disney films that have proven unsuccessful due to their unoriginal and politically charged messaging.
It appears that after a considerable amount of time, Disney is learning its lesson.
The company is no longer prioritizing DEI, having removed such terms from its recent business report.
This marks a stark contrast from 2024, when the company had a section for DEI in its report, as Fox Business reported.
“Our DEI objectives are to build and sustain teams that reflect the life experiences of our audiences, while employing and supporting a diverse array of voices in our creative and production teams,” the section said at the time.
Disney’s latest move comes months after Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr sent a letter to the organization, notifying it that an investigation had been launched into its DEI practices.
“We’re going to get to the bottom of everything that is ongoing here,” Carr said.
In 2024, an undercover agent of James O’Keefe’s Media Group (OMG) spoke with an employee at Disney, who was caught saying that the company would not hire White men.
“Certainly, there have been times where, you know, there’s no way we’re hiring a White male for this,” the Disney executive said.
When asked how Disney film producers would make it known they weren’t going to hire White men for roles, the executive replied, “There’s no way we’re hiring a White male for this role.”
In 2024, approximately 17.8 million people visited Disney’s Magic Kingdom, representing a 15% decrease from 2019.
Last week, the Walt Disney World Resort followed an order from President Donald Trump to lower all American flags at half-staff following the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney, per Disney Dining.
Conservatives reacted online to Disney’s move to exclude DEI, with one claiming that the decision is purely financial.
“After multiple flops and public backlash Disney has decided it’s ok to have white people playing white characters again They may love their political ideology But they love hard cash more. Go Woke Go Broke,” Basil the Great said.
“Makes financial sense why would you pander to those stealing your movies rather than those that pay for them!” another user said.
Disney is scheduled to release a plethora of films in the coming weeks and years.
Among such movies are “Zootopia 2”, “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” “Toy Story 5,” “Moana,” “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” and “Avengers: Doomsday,” among others.
