Dem Resigns Over Shocking Death Scandal

In rather sickening news, a Democrat from California was forced to resign after it was reported that she kept dozens of dead animals in the freezer of her pet store.

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie (D) appointed Isabella Alcaraz as the Supervisor of District 4.

After serving in such a capacity for just seven days, Alcaraz departed.

“For months I’ve seen division take hold in the Sunset,” the former supervisor said. When I raised my hand to serve as supervisor, I told the mayor that it was time for someone who is from the Sunset to represent the Sunset.”

Julia Baran, the owner of Alcaraz’s former pet store, was shocked to find dead animals upon entering the store on Irving Street.

In a video from May, Baran noticed an uncanny smell in the store.

“It smells like death,” she said. “There was a layer of pee and dust and poop on everything. On the walls. On every cabinet. On a lot of the inventory, so I couldn’t even sell it.”

Baran revealed that it took thousands of dollars to clean out the store, as reported by the San Francisco Standard.

Baran questioned Lurie’s decision to appoint Alcaraz and wondered whether the mayor’s office had vetted her business practices.

Lurie reportedly decided after meeting with Alcaraz at a Sunset night market in September that he would appoint her as supervisor.

The decision came after Supervisor Joel Engardo was recalled in a special election, The San Francisco Standard reported.

Lurie expressed regret at not doing enough to help Alcaraz succeed.

“In Supervisor Alcaraz, I saw someone with deep roots in the Sunset who cares deeply about healing a divided community,” the Democrat mayor said. “I regret that I didn’t do more to make sure she could succeed.”

Alcaraz was previously asked to address her time at her old pet store, The Animal Connection. She declined, instead emphasizing the difficulties surrounding operating a business.

“Our small businesses are what makes the Sunset the best place to live. Any small business owner can tell you that running one isn’t easy — but since the day I took over, my goal has always been to ensure The Animal Connection could continue bringing joy to our community,” she said.

“I’m proud to have handed the keys to someone I believe will carry that work forward and given her the tools to succeed, and as supervisor, I will work relentlessly on behalf of [Baran] and every other small business owner in the Sunset so we can have the vibrant community we deserve,” she continued.

After leaving the business world for politics, Alcaraz hoped that life wouldn’t be as tricky as it was caring for animals; however, that proved to be quite the opposite.

As a result of the allegations, Alcaraz announced her resignation.

“As a result, I told Mayor Lurie this evening that I will resign from my position as District 4 supervisor,” she said.
