A confrontation inside a Fort Wayne coffee shop has drawn widespread attention after a 75-year-old Indiana woman died following an incident involving employees, with investigators continuing to review surveillance footage, witness accounts, and medical findings as officials examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
The incident occurred May 13 at a Tim Hortons location in Fort Wayne.
Police say Anita Grayson entered the restaurant after experiencing an issue involving a drive-thru order.
Authorities reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses while reconstructing events inside the restaurant before Grayson became unresponsive.
She was transported to a hospital after emergency responders arrived but was later pronounced dead, WISH reported.
According to Fort Wayne police, the interaction escalated after concerns were raised involving employees working inside the restaurant.
Investigators said surveillance footage showed employees attempting to manage the situation as the interaction became increasingly confrontational.
