A car explosion happened outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, Saturday morning, killing at least one person and injuring several others, according to local officials and witnesses. Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the blast.
The explosion occurred around 10:50 a.m. in the parking lot of American Reproductive Centers, a fertility and IVF clinic located at 1199 N Indian Canyon Drive, near Desert Regional Medical Center. The blast was reportedly heard across a wide area and caused significant damage to nearby buildings, including shattered windows.
Palm Springs Police Lt. William Hutchinson told the Desert Sun that all possibilities were being considered, including the potential of terrorism, though no cause had been confirmed as of Saturday afternoon.

Footage from witnesses showed a body near the scene and emergency crews responding to the aftermath. At least two other individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to City News Service.
In an official statement, the Palm Springs City Government urged residents to stay away from the area to allow emergency responders to manage the situation. Roads surrounding the site have been closed as law enforcement and fire officials continue their investigation.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, and updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.
