In a devastating move for liberals and CNN, a pro-Trump billionaire is reportedly plotting a takeover of the network and plans to fire its liberal hosts who spend a bulk of their time blasting President Donald Trump.
Since Trump announced his presidential candidacy in 2015 at Trump Tower in New York City, CNN has been a massive thorn and critic of the president.
Now, CNN may be forced to accept that its tune on the Trump administration has to change, with a pro-Trump billionaire considering the possibility of purchasing the network.
Paramount-Skydance CEO David Ellison reportedly assured officials within the federal government that if the Trump administration blesses Paramount’s bid to purchase Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., he would remake CNN, as Trending Politics reported.
Ellison’s plea comes after Netflix moved to acquire Warner Bros. in a staggering $80 billion deal.
Paramount quickly issued a counterbid to Warner Bros., offering a whopping $108 billion.
“WBD shareholders deserve an opportunity to consider our superior all-cash offer for their shares in the entire company. Our public offer, which is on the same terms we provided to the Warner Bros. Discovery Board of Directors in private, provides superior value, and a more certain and quicker path to completion,” Ellison said in a statement.
“We believe the WBD Board of Directors is pursuing an inferior proposal which exposes shareholders to a mix of cash and stock, an uncertain future trading value of the Global Networks linear cable business and a challenging regulatory approval process. We are taking our offer directly to shareholders to give them the opportunity to act in their own best interests and maximize the value of their shares,” the Paramount CEO added.
As Trending Politics reported, Ellison’s son, David, traveled to Washington, D.C., and met with senior Trump officials to discuss the ongoing battle to conquer Warner Bros. David reportedly told the officials that he would remodel CNN if the government blessed his father’s wish to acquire the entertainment conglomerate.
As of today, the president has not taken a side in the negotiation battle. “None of them are particularly great friends of mine,” he said.
Conservatives have sounded the alarm over a potential Netflix-Warner Bros. merger.
“This is the most dangerous media consolidation in American history. Netflix is trying to acquire Warner Bros. and HBO in an $82 Billion deal. This means Barack and Michelle Obama and the Democrat super-donors that run Netflix will now own a monopoly on children’s entertainment,” conservative commentator Benny Johnson said.
Some conservatives on social media pointed out that Trump voters should prefer that Paramount take over Warner Bros. instead of Netflix.
“If you are a Trump voter, you want Paramount to buy Warner Brothers. Paramount would restore some form of sanity to CNN as part of their purchase, Netflix would lead to further far left wing media consolidation,” Clay Travis said.
