President Donald Trump announced the nomination of Jared Isaacman, a Democratic donor, to lead NASA.
“I am pleased to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot, and astronaut, as Administrator of NASA,” Trump said on Truth Social.

Five months ago, the president and his administration engaged in a public feud with then-DOGE chief Elon Musk.
Reports suggest that Trump ally Sergio Gor and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, among others, vehemently disagreed with Musk.
Gor, specifically, was not a fan of the tech mogul.
At the time, Gor was responsible for hiring and firing at the White House.
Musk had requested that the president nominate Isaacman, a man he respects, to lead NASA.
However, allies of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, as well as Gor, quickly warned the president against Isaacman’s liberal past.
This intense war at the White House enraged Musk, who went on social media and insulted Trump, even alleging that the president was in the notorious Epstein files.
Given Musk’s decision to disrespect Trump, the president shot down any consideration of nominating Isaacman.
However, that has all changed since, as the Daily Mail reported.
Musk no longer leads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), but the Tesla CEO appears to have rekindled his relationship with Trump. The duo were seen smiling and chatting during a memorial commemorating the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was tragically assassinated on Sept. 10.
Like Musk, Gor’s role has changed at the White House. He now serves as ambassador to India.
His successor, Dan Scavino, is now responsible for all hiring and firing that takes place at the White House.
Scavino is a longtime Trump ally who has stood by the president since his campaign announcement in 2015.
On Halloween, Scavino praised Isaccman as the NASA nominee was grilled online over his past donations to Democrats.
“Question for @rookisaacman Why did you donate to democrats and support them? The democrat party has literally become a communist party, and they use force, violence and intimidation (lawfare) to win. They are all about power and control and it just seems strange you support them,” a user asked Isaacman.
In response, Isaacman pointed out that he has supported Democrats and Republicans alike.
“I have donated to Republicans & Democrats for different reasons over the years–though probably twenty times more to Republicans. I have never made a public statement of support or an X post for any politician until this past year, when I became more politically active with the Trump Administration. I support the President, the VP, Senator Sheehy and many other Senators and Members of Congress I have gotten to know and believe to be true patriots. Above all else, I consider myself a patriot and I love my country,” he said.
Scavino then rushed to Isaacman’s defense, calling him a “class act, patriot.”
