Attorney Mike Davis calls on Trump’s DOJ to investigate, Merchan who used dirty lawfare against Trump

Mike Davis, the founder of the Article III Project, appeared on The War Room on Friday to discuss what he sees as unprecedented legal and political actions taken against former President Donald Trump.

Davis, a respected attorney and legal commentator, called on a potential Trump-led Justice Department to investigate and, if warranted, prosecute those he claims abused their positions of power to target Trump and his supporters.

Davis expressed strong opinions about the legal challenges facing Trump, including his concerns about the motivations and methods of attorneys, judges, and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials involved in cases against the former president.

He pointed to what he considers partisan actions that have escalated into a broader campaign of political lawfare.

“These partisan Democrat operatives in these prosecutors’ offices, in these judges’ chambers, can’t get this through their thick skulls: the American people are tired of this unprecedented, Republic-ending lawfare and election interference,” Davis said during the segment.

He specifically criticized Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over one of the high-profile cases against Trump. Davis accused Merchan of bias and claimed his family has financially benefited from the proceedings.

Davis warned about potential developments in January 2025, when Judge Merchan is expected to sentence Trump in one of the cases.

While he doubted Trump would face imprisonment, Davis expressed concern that labeling Trump a convicted felon could damage his standing before reentering the White House, should he win the presidency.

“Judge Merchan is going to sentence President Trump on January 10th, if the Supreme Court doesn’t intervene before then—which they absolutely should,” Davis argued. “He’s likely not going to imprison Trump, but he will label him a convicted felon right before he takes office.”

Davis vowed to push for accountability through the Article III Project. He advocated for a comprehensive criminal investigation by a future Trump-led Justice Department targeting those he claims are responsible for politically motivated legal actions.

“Right now, you guys are the hunters,” Davis said, addressing what he called Democrat operatives. “And guess what? On January 20th at noon, you’re going to become the hunted.”

Davis emphasized the need for a Special Grand Jury in Fort Pierce, Florida, to investigate individuals like Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, New York Attorney General Letitia James, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, and Judge Merchan, among others. He suggested they could be investigated under 18 U.S. Code § 241, which involves conspiracy against rights.

“Jack Smith, Jay Bratt, Judge Tanya Chutkan—they all need to be part of this investigation,” Davis added. “Judges are not above the law when it comes to conspiracy against rights.”

Davis connected these legal challenges to what he described as a larger pattern of targeting Trump’s allies and supporters. He pointed to the cases of Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, both of whom faced legal consequences, and the January 6th defendants, whom he believes were politically persecuted.

“They’ve gone after Trump, his top aides, and his supporters with a vengeance,” Davis said. “There has to be accountability for what happened. They’re going to gleefully sentence President Trump on January 10th. And then, on January 20th, justice is coming.”

Davis specifically singled out Judge Juan Merchan and his daughter, Lauren Merchan, for what he described as unethical behavior. He accused the judge’s daughter of profiting financially from her role as a political operative, suggesting a conflict of interest in the Trump case.

“When President Trump is supposed to be preparing to take office on January 20th, this partisan, clown, Marxist judge wants him focused on preparing for a sentencing hearing in a bogus case,” Davis claimed.

He added, “If there’s evidence that Judge Merchan or his family engaged in an illegal conspiracy against rights, then they need to face consequences. The Trump 47 Justice Department should investigate thoroughly.”

Davis warned that failure to address these issues could embolden further abuses of power. He urged Trump and his allies to take decisive action to ensure accountability.

“If Trump does nothing, it will only be worse next time,” Davis cautioned. “This kind of partisan lawfare cannot be ignored—it will escalate if left unchecked.”
