‘Anti-Greta’ Activist With Elon Musk’s Support Has Big Ask

A young German political commentator dubbed the “anti-Greta Thunberg” who gained international attention by challenging climate change activism has fled to the United States seeking asylum, claiming her life is in danger.

Naomi Seibt, 25, has formally applied for asylum in America with reported support from tech billionaire Elon Musk.

The activist says she faces threats from multiple directions in her home country.

Seibt first gained prominence in 2020 when a conservative think tank hired her as their spokesperson in opposition to mainstream environmental movements.

At the time, she was positioned as a countervoice to Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.

The German native now says her political affiliations have made her a marked woman.

She publicly supports the Alternative for Germany party, a right-wing political organization that has faced scrutiny from German authorities.

Her asylum application comes at a time when the Trump administration has implemented new policies regarding who can seek refuge in the United States.

These policies reportedly prioritize certain applicants, including white Europeans and South Africans.

Seibt’s connection to Musk began when the billionaire started amplifying her social media posts.

Their relationship has since evolved beyond public platforms.

“Elon has been terrified to go to Europe and knows that there is an extremely high threat and has confirmed this to me personally,” Seibt told Fox News Digital.

“That’s when I made the decision to apply for asylum myself. He gave me his approval for that.”

The activist reports she is currently in the United States legally while waiting for an official asylum interview.

She has maintained private communications with Musk regarding her situation.

“My goal in the meantime is to become an American citizen in the future because this country has given me so much hope,” she stated.

Seibt alleges German authorities have monitored her activities and issued threats against her for an extended period.

She fears imprisonment if she returns to Germany while simultaneously receiving death threats from Antifa groups.

She claims she sought help from German police but was told they could not provide assistance unless she had already been physically harmed or killed. According to Seibt, German officials have not offered protection despite what she describes as serious risks to her safety.

“I went to the German police, and they told me that they can’t do anything about it as long as I have not actually been raped or killed,” she said.

The activist maintains that despite laws protecting free speech about politicians, she believes she would face arrest upon returning to Germany.

The Daily Mail reported that last year, Seibt drew attention for her commentary on an attack at a Christmas market in Magdeburg.

She suggested the perpetrator was an Islamist, though authorities have not confirmed this characterization. Musk amplified her subsequent post stating: “Elon Musk is right: Only the AfD can save Germany.”

The Heartland Institute brought Seibt to American audiences in 2020 through a YouTube video contrasting her views with those of Thunberg.

“I have good news for you. The world is not ending because of climate change,” Seibt said in the video.

“People are being force-fed a very dystopian agenda of climate alarmism that tells us that we as humans are destroying the planet and that we, the young people especially, have no future.”

Another video directly compared the two young women, presenting their opposing perspectives on environmental issues. Seibt described Thunberg as promoting climate alarmism.

She has also spoken about her own evolution on climate issues.

“I used to be a climate change alarmist myself because, obviously, as a young girl I grew up around the climate change hysteria in the media, in my school books,” she explained in one video.

“I was an innocent young girl and I thought by hugging the trees I could save the planet, which quite frankly turned out not to be true,” she continued.

She argued that mainstream climate narratives represented an “insult to science, and the complexity of nature, and freedom of speech” and emphasized the importance of questioning prevailing viewpoints.

“Climate change alarmism at its very core is a despicably anti-human ideology. We are told to look down on our achievements with guilt, shame, disgust and not even to take into account the many major benefits we have from using fossil fuels as our main energy source,” Seibt stated.

She celebrated modern technological progress, questioning why society should not take pride in its achievements.

“Look around. We are living in such an amazing era of fast progress and innovation. We are not allowed to be proud of that at all? Instead debates are being shut down and real scientists lose their jobs,” she said.
