Here’s How This Iconic Actor Died

New details have emerged surrounding the tragic death of Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte, with official records revealing the circumstances behind his passing at just 34 years old.

The actor, best known for portraying Walter White Jr. on the acclaimed AMC television series, died on October 12 in Brownsville, Texas.

According to an official inquest report obtained by Page Six, Mitte’s death was ruled a suicide.

The Cameron County, Texas, documents confirmed that the actor was pronounced dead at 1:32 p.m. on October 12. The report also identified the manner and method of his death.

Authorities requested an autopsy and toxicology testing, although the results were not included in the records obtained by the publication.

Mitte’s representative had previously confirmed that the actor died by suicide but did not disclose additional circumstances surrounding his death.

Now, nearly a month later, the release of further details has brought renewed attention to the loss of an entertainer whose career extended far beyond television.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of beloved actor, philanthropist and passionate disability rights advocate RJ Mitte,” his representative said in a statement following his death.

Mitte became a familiar face to millions of viewers through his role as Walter “Flynn” White Jr., the son of Bryan Cranston’s character, Walter White, in Breaking Bad.

The series became one of television’s most celebrated dramas, introducing audiences to a cast of characters whose performances left a lasting impression.

For Mitte, the role carried additional personal significance.

Born with cerebral palsy, the actor drew from his own experiences while portraying a character who also lived with the condition.

His performance helped bring greater visibility to people with disabilities, an issue that remained central to his life outside Hollywood.

According to his representative, Mitte used his platform to promote disability awareness and inclusion.

He also served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children’s, supporting organizations dedicated to helping individuals and families facing medical challenges.

Following his death, several of Mitte’s former co-stars shared emotional tributes.

Among them was Bryan Cranston, who portrayed his on-screen father throughout Breaking Bad.

Cranston expressed his grief in an Instagram post accompanied by a photograph of the two actors together.

“I’m in deep despair as I write this tonight. RJ Mitte, my sweet son on Breaking Bad has died,” Cranston wrote.

The veteran actor recalled meeting Mitte when he was just 14 years old and beginning his journey on the television series.

Cranston described the young performer as enthusiastic and determined, praising his commitment throughout the show’s demanding production schedule.

“Born with Cerebral Palsy, he never – ever – allowed that challenge to be an excuse for anything,” Cranston remembered.

“He met the demanding shooting schedule head on with great determination.”

Aaron Paul, who portrayed Jesse Pinkman on the series, also expressed his heartbreak.

“I am at a loss. I am heartbroken over this news,” Paul said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

“RJ, I love you my friend. You will be missed.”

Paul concluded his tribute by encouraging anyone struggling to remember that they are loved and not alone.

Meanwhile, Dean Norris, who portrayed Hank Schrader, remembered Mitte as someone he had watched grow up while working on the series.

“Though RJ didn’t play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set,” Norris wrote on X.

“He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed.”

Mitte’s death at such a young age left his former colleagues mourning someone they had known since the earliest years of his career.

Although his portrayal of Walter White Jr. remained his most recognizable role, his advocacy work became an equally meaningful part of his public legacy, per Page Six.

The newly disclosed records provide additional information about the circumstances of his death, but they do not explain the personal factors that may have contributed to it.

For those who knew him, Mitte’s legacy extends beyond the tragedy of his final days.

He is remembered as a talented performer, a determined advocate for people with disabilities, and a young man whose presence left a lasting mark on the people who worked alongside him.
