‘Tone Deaf’ Choice From a Trump Outrages

Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach estate best known as the president’s winter home, served as the backdrop this week for a high-fashion magazine cover starring his daughter.

L’Officiel Monaco photographed Tiffany Trump, 33, in a series of designer gowns around the property. The magazine then unveiled the editorial and placed her on its cover.

The publication said the shoot “took inspiration from the estate’s Mediterranean architecture, ornate interiors and historic charm.”

L’Officiel Monaco also released a written description of the project.

“For an exclusive L’Officiel Monaco editorial, Tiffany Trump brings her own interpretation of feminine sophistication to a photographic series conceived around the codes of haute couture,” it reads.

The description adds: “Grand staircases, intricate decorative details and warm Florida sunlight provide the setting for a series of portraits celebrating fashion and feminine beauty.”

Tiffany is the only child of President Donald Trump and his ex-wife, Marla Maples. She is a mother of one. She posted several of the photos to X with a brief caption: “Check out my cover shoot.”

In the first image, she poses next to a massive lion statue. She wears a sparkling turtleneck gown by Luna B, with dramatic jewelry and a feathered scarf that drapes over her shoulder.

The second shows her on a large staircase in a floor-length, haltered purple dress by Silvia Tcherassi.

In the third, she looks into the camera wearing an off-the-shoulder black Rachel Gilbert gown. Glittering floral embellishments run across its chest.

Replies to the post arrived in large numbers and split in two directions. Some users complimented her, calling her “gorgeous” and “stunning.”

Others criticized the post, accusing her of “flaunting her wealth” while, they argued, most people “can’t afford food, gas and health insurance.”

“You and your entire at large family are tone deaf. Your vanity is the cherry on top,” one user wrote.

Another user posted: “How about no. I can barely afford to live and there you are with dresses that cost more than my annual salary.”

A third replied: “You people just can’t help yourself, can you? You need to read the room, darlin’. Americans can’t afford gas.”

Several critics said they support the president.

One wrote: “Go actually do work in your profession. This ain’t it. No one wants to look at pictures of you flaunting your wealth. I love Trump. Go work like he did.”

Another user posted: “I love Trump but [she] needs to read a room!”

Some replies ran short. “So out of touch,” one person wrote. Another said: “You look beautiful but this is pretty tone deaf.”

Others focused on cost.

“How wonderful for you. On the other hand, I can’t afford gas or food,” a user wrote. A different commenter posted: “People can’t afford food, gas and health insurance – but please show off your grifted wealth.”

One user wrote: “No one cares about your privilege. You people are so out of touch it’s sickening.” Someone else offered a three-word reply: “Read the room.”

The cover follows a Halloween post in which Tiffany dressed as Barbie.

She wore the character’s signature hot pink outfit, which includes bellbottom pants and a matching button-down crop top, and left her midriff bare.

She shared the photo on Instagram alongside her mother, who dressed as a cowgirl. Her husband, Michael Boulos, and their one-year-old son, Alexander, both wore cowboy costumes.

Her sister-in-law, Lara Trump, also chose Barbie and wore almost the same outfit in a series of Halloween photos on her social accounts.

Lara’s husband, Eric Trump, dressed as a NASA astronaut. Their daughter, Carolina, seven, went as Barbie, and their son, Eric “Luke,” nine, wore a ninja-like costume and mask.
