For a decade, grocery runs and youth basketball games have never been simple errands for Ben Shapiro’s family.
The conservative commentator revealed in a new CBN News interview that armed security has shadowed him and his children every single day for ten years.
“I’ve had 24/7 security for the last 10 years,” the 42-year-old said, describing a level of protection most public figures never need.
That interview aired just days after Florida police announced the arrest of a Kansas man accused of plotting to kill him.
Korby Allen Strube, 29, now faces nearly a dozen charges tied to alleged threats to kill or cause bodily harm, according to police records obtained by The Post.
Investigators say Strube flooded X with antisemitic messages aimed at Shapiro throughout late July and early August.
A July 31 post allegedly read, “I’m going to kill be Shapiro and hes not gonna be a-live.”
Days later, another message reportedly warned, “I’ll kill you just the same. Go meet Jesus. 51 days left.”
A separate post allegedly stated, “Die with Jesus … I’ll kill you just the same I guess. 52 days.”
Police say the numbered countdown embedded in these posts matched the calendar date of this year’s Yom Kippur observance.
Other messages allegedly declared Shapiro would die “for being Jewish” and used an antisemitic slur to describe him.
Shapiro wasn’t the only target named in the alleged threats. Investigators say Strube also referenced President Trump and the Obama family in his posts.
Strube additionally suggested, without evidence, that his own social media conduct had somehow played a role in the death of fellow conservative figure Charlie Kirk, police said.
A private security firm working for Shapiro spotted the posts first and alerted law enforcement.
That firm described the messages as carrying genuine weight, calling the threats “not veiled” and noting their “level of gravity.”
Detectives used the account information to locate an address just outside Topeka, Kansas.
There, they found Strube living with his parents.
According to police, Strube confirmed he had written the posts once questioned by investigators.
He then offered officers a bizarre explanation, claiming government agents were secretly communicating with him through music lyrics and presidential speeches.
Strube’s parents told police their son had never been diagnosed with any mental illness.
They also opened their home’s gun safe for officers, telling police Strube had no way to access the weapons inside.
Records show Strube once worked in information technology but had been jobless and living under his parents’ roof for roughly two years before his arrest.
Florida authorities carried out the arrest, and Strube now awaits proceedings on the threat-related charges filed against him.
His arrest became public knowledge just before Shapiro’s taped conversation with CBN News reached air.
In that interview, Shapiro laid out how deeply security concerns have shaped his family’s routine.
“Literally when I go to my kid’s basketball game I’ve got a couple security guards with me,” he told the outlet.
Even a simple trip to buy food comes with a security detail, he explained.
“When I’m going to the grocery store I have to have security follow me to the grocery store,” Shapiro said. “That’s just a reality of life.”
His comments arrived as police continued sorting through the full timeline of alleged threats against him.
Court records indicate the countdown language appeared repeatedly across multiple posts in the days leading up to the arrest.
Strube remains in custody while his case proceeds through the Florida legal system.
The incident marks the latest in a series of threats directed at prominent conservative commentators in recent months.
Authorities have not said whether further charges against Strube could still be filed.
