Why Nick Cannon Just Declared ‘I F*** With Trump’

Nick Cannon, host of the popular television program “The Masked Singer,” made his political views known to a wide audience during a recent episode of his online talk show “Big Drive,” aired Friday, March 28.

Cannon sat down with model and media personality Amber Rose for a wide-ranging conversation that quickly turned toward American politics, President Donald Trump, and the historical records of both major political parties.

Rose opened the political discussion by stating her position directly. “Democrats don’t care about black people, and they don’t care about people of color, and the Republicans do, and that’s the misconception,” she said.

Cannon responded without hesitation. “I agree with you 100 percent,” he said.

“People don’t know that the Democrats are the party of the KKK. People don’t know that the Republicans are the party that freed the slaves.”

Cannon went on to acknowledge that both he and Rose hold views that lean conservative.

“I mean, both you and I have some conservative views,” he said. “You just a little bit more outspoken than I am.”

Despite those leanings, Cannon stopped short of claiming allegiance to either major political party. “And honestly, I don’t subscribe to either party,” he told Rose.

“I rock with W. E. B. Du Bois, when he said there’s no such thing as two parties. It’s just one evil party with two different names.”

W.E.B. Du Bois wrote those words in a 1956 essay published in The Nation, explaining why he did not plan to vote in that year’s presidential election. “In 1956, I shall not go to the polls,” Du Bois wrote, according to TheWrap. “There is but one evil party with two names.”

When the conversation moved to President Trump’s second term, Cannon became noticeably more animated. “Motherf***er’s cleaning house,” Cannon said, and added that Trump is “doing what he said he was gonna do.”

Cannon’s enthusiasm for Trump extended to a reference to the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico.

“We got the Gulf of America now,” he said. “[Trump is] like the club. He’s charging a $5 million bottle service fee to get into the country. I f*** with Trump.”

Rose, 42, told Cannon she voted for Trump in 2024 because “we had two options and he was by far the better option.”

While Cannon has historically kept his political positions close to the vest, Rose has been publicly vocal about her support for Trump and how that stance affected her professionally.

Rose aligned herself with the GOP publicly at the 2024 Republican National Convention, Resist the Mainstream previously reported.

Speaking to attendees, she described her decision in her own words. “I let go of my fear or judgment of being misunderstood, of getting attacked by the left, and I put the red hat on,” she said.

“The left told me to hate Trump. And even worse, to hate the other side: the people who support him.”

Rose has also spoken about facing professional repercussions for her political stance.

As the February cover star for Maxim magazine, she addressed the backlash head-on. “During the election, I was ‘canceled,’” she told the publication. “Now? All the naysayers are quiet. They see he’s already changing our country for the better.”

In the same interview, Rose took aim at what she described as ideological intolerance.

“Unfortunately, the ‘woke’ left cancels people for having a different ideology,” she told Maxim.

“Fortunately for me, I don’t give a f— and will always stand 10 toes down until the wheels fall off, regardless of what my beliefs may be. I used to be on the left and thought I was doing the right thing. That’s why it’s so important to have open conversations.”

Rose also called for a return to fact-based discourse. “On the left, there’s no objective truth. It’s only about feelings,” she said. “As a society, we all need to get back to reality and have these difficult conversations to bring us all back to a better place.”
