‘Roblox Programmer’ Arrested After Chilling Discovery

A New Orleans resident is facing serious charges involving child sexual abuse material and possession of a child sex doll.

Authorities say Jamie Borne, who works in the tech sector, is being prosecuted on 40 counts of child pornography featuring children under 13, along with a separate count related to the sex doll.

The 30-year-old’s arrest followed a routine compliance check by New Orleans District Probation and Parole officers on Feb. 25.

During the visit, officers discovered a child-sized sex doll at his residence on St. Andrew Street. Borne reportedly admitted to purchasing the doll and confirmed possession of illicit material across several electronic devices, according to WBRZ.

Searches of Borne’s home revealed a range of devices allegedly containing illegal content, including multiple laptops, external hard drives, USB drives, and smartphones.

Investigators also documented children’s clothing and both used and unused condoms, which authorities say corroborate allegations of child exploitation, WGNO reported.

At the time of the investigation, Borne was serving probation for a prior 2023 conviction involving aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and the illegal discharge of a firearm, stemming from an incident in which he threw smoke grenades and fired a weapon into an occupied tent.

Probation officers flagged the discovery of the sex doll during their check, which led to the involvement of federal and state law enforcement.

Borne claimed to be a programmer with the gaming platform Roblox, which allows users to create and play online games.

Roblox officials stated that he has never been employed by the company and that his accounts and user-created games were deactivated for violating community standards.

The platform, which serves more than 150 million daily users, has been the focus of scrutiny in several U.S. states, including Louisiana, for allegedly inadequate protections against online predators.

In August 2025, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill filed a lawsuit against Roblox, arguing that the platform lacked sufficient age verification measures.

According to WAFB, the complaint claimed that predators could pose as children and expose minors to sexually explicit content, including simulated abuse.

Authorities say Borne’s case reflects broader concerns about the accessibility of digital platforms to predators and the difficulty of policing such spaces.

Borne is being held at Orleans Parish with a $50,000 bond for the child sex doll charge and $2 million for the child pornography counts.

Louisiana law imposes severe penalties for possession of child sexual abuse material, including fines up to $50,000 and prison terms of five to 20 years.

Offenses involving child sex dolls carry penalties of up to $20,000 in fines and one to two years of imprisonment, depending on the circumstances.

Attorney General Murrill emphasized the state’s dedication to prosecuting offenders and safeguarding children.

“Our Criminal Division is now prosecuting this disturbing case against Jamie Borne,” she said. “If you possess child sexual abuse materials or child sex dolls, you will face Louisiana justice.”

The arrest underscores the challenges authorities face in monitoring online platforms and protecting minors from exploitation.

Officials say coordinated efforts between state and federal agencies remain critical to identifying offenders and preventing child abuse in both digital and physical spaces.
