A biological male substitute teacher and teacher’s aide working with pre-K and kindergarten students at Mildred B. Poole Elementary School on Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has been terminated following a series of formal complaints from military families.
The school operates under the Department of Defense Education Activity, commonly known as DoDEA, which oversees educational institutions serving military families across the country.
CBN reported that parents of children at the Fort Bragg school began voicing concerns about the teacher’s behavior in early 2025.
Parents reported the employee went by female names and wore “BDSM-style” female clothing, including a dog collar and an animal tail to school, said Fox News.
The teacher also was accused of telling kids he “turns into a wolf at night,” and required students to refer to him by some of his “wolf” names.
According to other reports, the teacher used a variety of names, including “Roxxanne Wildheart,” “Captain Roxxie,” “Koda Wildheart,” “Kiera Blackheart,” “Lilith Deathhowl,” “Artemis Deathhowl,” and “savagebeastqueen.”
Students told parents the teacher directed them to address the individual by online wolf character names and told them to howl like wolves.
The Heartlander reported that parents told Liberty Counsel that their children came home frightened and anxious as a result of the teacher’s behavior.
One kindergartner returned home and told her mother, “Mommy, I’m scared he’s going to come eat me,” a fear rooted in the teacher’s claims about nightly transformations. Another child reported to her mother that the teacher said he was “actually a woman” who “likes boys.”
CafeMom highlighted that parents first complained to Mildred B. Poole Elementary School administrators in early 2025.
Staff, however, told the parents there was nothing to be done because proper dress code was being followed and the teacher’s transgender identity was protected.
When parents again reported the teacher’s behavior in January 2026, they enlisted the help of Liberty Counsel, who argued the teacher’s conduct violated President Donald Trump’s January 2025 executive order, which deemed that only two genders — based on biology — garner legal protections, reported WLOS.
In a February 9 demand letter, Liberty Counsel alleged the teacher had “engaged in disturbing behavior” for about a year.
Liberty Counsel also argued that the teacher’s actions violated recent Pentagon rulings on military readiness because they were distracting for parents.
“This male’s behavior and DoDEA’s failure to intervene constitutes sexual harassment in violation of Title IX,” the Liberty Counsel letter reads, per CafeMom.
Liberty Counsel founder and Chairman Mat Staver stated that school administrators permitted the behavior “in violation of these children’s rights and the rights of their parents” and called on federal officials to protect the children from what he described as “gross and disturbing behavior.”
Staver said, “We commend Secretary Pete Hegseth for confirming that this male teacher is no longer grooming children at the Fort Bragg U.S. Army post. Exposing military children to this disturbing behavior is harmful, detracts from military readiness by distracting parents, and violates Title VII, Title IX, and numerous other policies.” The Heartlander
The DoDEA later informed Liberty Counsel that the school system had “severed the employment relationship” with the individual referenced in the complaint. The agency also said it was coordinating with appropriate offices to review the matter.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed on X that the teacher had been fired. “The ‘Wolf’ was fired 2 weeks ago,” Hegseth posted on Feb. 19.
Social media users reacted swiftly after Hegseth’s post circulated online.
“You need to fire whoever hired this person in the first place,” one commenter wrote.
“Alarming that he wasn’t fired sooner,” said another.
Staver urged DoDEA to consider forming a task force to address what he described as “dangerous gender ideology” in schools.
