A prominent German gaming influencer became the target of multiple attacks while broadcasting live from New Year’s Eve celebrations in Cologne, with police now investigating the incidents captured on camera.
Kunshikitty, a Twitch streamer with nearly 223,000 followers, was struck by projectiles by muslim migrants at least twice during her live broadcast from the streets of Cologne on Dec. 31.
The attacks occurred in front of thousands of viewers watching her countdown stream from the city’s festivities.
The first assault happened approximately fifteen minutes before midnight.
As the streamer walked through the crowd wearing a pink outfit, surveillance footage showed a hand suddenly emerging from the left side of the frame.
An unidentified man threw an object at the influencer’s head from close range.
The assailant remained visible momentarily before quickly turning away and disappearing into the surrounding crowd.
The streamer immediately reacted to the impact, crying out and clutching her head.
“Ow, ow, I’ve been hit by something. I’ve been hit on the head by something,” she said during the live broadcast.
Minutes later, a second attack occurred.
While discussing the initial incident with her viewers, the streamer was struck again by another projectile.
The nature of the object used in the second assault remains unclear, as does whether the same attacker carried out both incidents.
“I think if I were a two-meter-tall bouncer, they wouldn’t have done that,” the streamer commented between the two attacks.
Following the dangerous and apparently targeted assaults, the visibly upset influencer announced her intention to file a police report.
German news outlet BILD subsequently confirmed that Cologne police had launched an investigation based on the streamer’s recordings.
The Cologne-based content creator has not yet publicly commented on the current case beyond her initial statements during the live broadcast. However, she has addressed social media speculation about her motivations for streaming from the event.
The streamer denied reports suggesting she intended to demonstrate that the streets remained safe for women during New Year’s Eve celebrations with migrants present.
She criticized certain social media platforms as toxic environments where users become trapped in echo chambers.
This marks the second time in recent months that the popular streamer has been victimized during a live broadcast.
BILD reported that several months prior, a heavily intoxicated man verbally and physically harassed her during Oktoberfest festivities.
In the Oktoberfest incident, police conducted an investigation, though no charges were ultimately filed. According to BR reporting at the time, the perpetrator later issued an apology to the streamer.
The investigation into the New Year’s Eve attacks continues as authorities work to identify the suspect or suspects involved.
Police have the advantage of clear video evidence from the live stream that captured both incidents.
