President Donald Trump revealed his eldest son’s engagement during a White House Christmas reception Monday night.
Meanwhile, outgoing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced her engagement to Brian Glenn, chief White House correspondent for Real America’s Voice.
Donald Trump Jr., 47, is engaged to Bettina Anderson, 38, following a romance that began in spring 2024.
The announcement came as a surprise to many attendees at the festive White House gathering.
After embracing his father, Trump Jr. addressed the crowd, admitting he was at “a loss for words.”
He expressed gratitude to Anderson, joking, “I want to thank Bettina for that one word: yes!”
The president’s eldest son shared candid details about the proposal moment.
“When you go down there, it’s like, you’re gonna go, and you’re trying to ask, and you’re not sure what the answer’s gonna be. It’s always a little bit rough. But she said yes, which is a big win for the end of the year,” he told attendees.
Anderson, wearing an elegant red strapless gown, spoke to the crowd after receiving applause and cheers.
She thanked both the president and first lady Melania Trump for hosting the celebration.
“Wow, what a privilege it is to be here at the White House, Mr President, thank you so much for hosting this incredible party, and to our first lady, these decorations, am I right, aren’t they unbelievable?” Anderson said, beaming with joy.
She described the experience as unforgettable.
“This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!” Anderson declared.
President Trump offered his future daughter-in-law a kiss and two words of wisdom: “good luck,” prompting more applause from the assembled guests.
The couple was first spotted together publicly in September 2024, when exclusive photographs captured them sharing an intimate moment at a Palm Beach restaurant.
Sources at the time indicated their relationship was well-known among Palm Beach society circles, according to the Daily Mail.

Just three weeks before her planned departure from Congress, Greene and Glenn celebrated their engagement milestone at an upscale restaurant.
Greene displayed her new diamond engagement ring, while Glenn shared the news on social media platform X, writing “She said ‘yes.’”
Greene responded enthusiastically to the announcement, posting “Happily ever after!!!” and adding “Love you.”
The couple’s shared connection to Trump initially brought them together during the early stages of their relationship.
Glenn described Greene as “mystical — like a unicorn” in an interview with the Washington Post discussing their romance.
Glenn has built a reputation for posing favorable questions to Trump during White House press interactions.
He carefully managed his position during the conflict between his now-fiancée and the president, publicly expressing his support for Greene while avoiding direct confrontation with Trump.
The pair has maintained a public relationship since 2023, reports the New York Post.
Greene finalized her divorce from ex-husband Perry in 2022, paving the way for her romance with the television journalist.
The engagement announcement arrives as Greene prepares to resign from her congressional seat on January 5, 2026.
Her decision to step down follows a significant falling out with President Trump that unfolded last month.
