Two prominent conservative voices have reportedly put their bitter public feud on hold following an intense private meeting that lasted over four hours.
Candace Owens and Erika Kirk sat down face-to-face after months of escalating conflict that gripped conservative circles nationwide.
The tension began when Owens launched repeated public attacks following the September killing of Erika’s husband, Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.
Taking to social media, Owens described their encounter in detail.
She characterized the discussion as highly productive and expressed regret that it hadn’t occurred sooner.
The former Turning Point USA communications director acknowledged that significant disagreements remain between them. However, she emphasized areas of common ground that surprised her.
“We agreed much more than I had anticipated. Of course, we also disagreed on various points and people as well. Most importantly, we were able to share intel and clarify intent,” Owens stated.
She committed to providing her audience with comprehensive details about their conversation during her Tuesday livestream.
Owens noted her exhaustion but wanted supporters to know immediately that both women spoke candidly during their meeting.
Erika Kirk’s public response proved far more reserved than Owens’ detailed account.
She simply acknowledged the conversation as productive and expressed anticipation for upcoming Turning Point USA events.
The America Fest 2025 conference in Phoenix represents Turning Point USA’s signature annual gathering.
Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to appear alongside Erika Kirk as a featured speaker at the event.
The conflict between these conservative figures intensified dramatically when Erika Kirk appeared on Fox News. During that appearance, she condemned conspiracy theorists who she said were profiting from spreading harmful theories about her husband’s death online, though she refrained from naming Owens directly.
Owens responded swiftly to that television appearance, accusing the widowed mother of seeking privacy selectively while simultaneously pursuing public attention.
She drew a comparison to Meghan Markle, referencing criticism the Duchess of Sussex faced for similar behavior.
During her show, Owens claimed she had been exercising restraint because she felt uncertain about Erika’s intentions.
She argued that the Fox News appearance revealed Erika’s true motives regarding the large political organization she now leads.
Charlie Kirk died on Sept. 10 while delivering remarks at a Turning Point event at Utah Valley University.
Authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, age 22, on murder charges after he allegedly shot from a rooftop during the speech.
According to prosecutors, Robinson admitted his actions through text messages sent to his roommate.
The suspect reportedly stated he could no longer tolerate what he perceived as Kirk’s rhetoric and had planned the attack for approximately one week.
Owens has repeatedly suggested to her substantial following that Turning Point USA bears some responsibility for the assassination.
She previously served as a prominent speaker and communications director for the organization until their 2020 separation over ideological differences.
Her podcast episodes addressing Kirk’s death regularly attract millions of views on YouTube.
Some episodes have generated up to nine million views as she discusses various theories about the incident and criticizes Turning Point USA leadership.
The attacks coincided with Erika Kirk’s increased visibility as she assumed her deceased husband’s role leading Turning Point USA. In one controversial episode, Owens discussed Charlie Kirk’s dating history before his marriage, mentioning a woman he reportedly felt strongly about.
