‘Landman’ Mocks ‘The View’

Paramount+ drama series Landman delivered a sharp critique of ABC’s daytime talk program The View in its most recent episode.

The fifth episode of the second season aired Sunday and included a scene between two main characters that directly referenced the long-running ABC show.

Billy Bob Thornton portrays Tommy Norris in the series, while Sam Elliott plays his father T.L.

The two characters engaged in a conversation that included a discussion about daytime television programming.

During the exchange, Tommy suggested his father watch the ABC program to occupy his time.

T.L. responded by asking what the show entailed.

Tommy described it as “a bunch of pissed-off millionaires b****ing about how much they hate millionaires and Trump and men and you and me and everybody else they got a bee up their a** about. It’s pretty funny.”

His father replied that the description did not sound amusing.

Tommy countered with a comparison, stating, “Well, it ain’t joke funny, it’s like ‘fart in church’ funny, you know what I mean?”

When T.L. maintained his skepticism about the humor, Tommy added another layer to his explanation, saying, “Well, it depends on your proximity to the fart.”

The series comes from the creative minds of Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.

The show centers on the Norris family, a billionaire household navigating the oil rig industry in West Texas.

The program explores the dynamics between the family members and various power players within the energy sector.

The show has gained significant attention for its portrayal of rural American life and industry.

In 2024, a separate clip from the series gained widespread attention on social media platform X.

The viral moment featured Thornton’s character delivering commentary on renewable energy initiatives, Fox News reported.

In that scene, the character questioned wind energy infrastructure.

“You have any idea how much diesel will have to burn to mix that much concrete or make that steel and haul this s*** out here and put it together with a 450-foot crane? You want to guess how much oil it takes to lubricate that f***ing thing? Or winterize it? In its 20-year lifespan, it won’t offset the carbon footprint of making it. And don’t get me started on solar panels and the lithium in your Tesla battery,” he said.

Resist the Mainstream reported that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is reportedly being discussed internally as a potential future host on The View.

This rumor comes just after Greene revealed on Nov. 21 that she would step down from Congress effective Jan. 5, 2026.

The news also comes on the heels of Greene’s first-ever appearance as a guest on The View. “She was actually really lovely behind the scenes,” a source told the Daily Mail, adding that staffers were caught off guard by how smoothly that appearance went.

Back in November, when Greene appeared on the ABC daytime talk show, the congresswoman made a headline-grabbing appearance when her seemingly cordial welcome quickly descended into heated exchanges with the left-leaning hosts.
