The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, is making a return to Hollywood after an eight-year hiatus, following her decision to leave Los Angeles, California, for Buckingham Palace.
Markle has starred in numerous blockbuster films and TV series, such as “Suits,” “Horrible Bosses,” and “Dysfunctional Friends.”
The duchess, however, has appeared to struggle in her return to the acting world.
As Resist the Mainstream previously reported, sources within Hollywood are rather displeased at Markle’s return.
Markle previously faced plagiarism allegations during the launch of her cooking show, and, recently, she lost her 10th publiclist in five years.
Needless to say, it’s been tough for her.
Markle was last publicly seen attending the World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays alongside her husband, Prince Harry.
The couple sported Dodgers hats as they sat front row at Dodger Stadium.
On Nov. 1, the Dodgers defeated the Blue Jays 5-4 in a late-night thriller to become back-to-back world champions.
Markle posted a video on Instagram in which she kissed an unsuspecting Harry and proceeded to jump up-and-down with her friend as the Dodgers stunned the world and defeated the Blue Jays.
Harry, meanwhile, appeared to be blown away by the kiss and just stared at the television.
The prince did not seem like he knew there was a camera nearby.
Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan reacted to Markle’s video, issuing a scathing rebuke of the duchess over her “terrible” acting.
Callahan said that while Harry looked normal in the video, Markle was anything but.
“Meghan, however — Meghan came across as she always does: Stilted, artificial, simulating what she thinks happiness and joy look like, and lacking a single shred of self-awareness. In other words, she’s a terrible actress. Always has been,” Callahan said.
Callahan did point out the interesting timing of Markle’s video.
Chaos is ongoing at Buckingham Palace, with King Charles III stripping his brother Prince Andrew’s royal titles.
Andrew was engulfed in a major scandal involving infamous financier Jeffrey Epstein.
Markle and Harry, according to Callahan, could soon face the king’s wrath.
“But the timing of this video, and the subsequent development that she’s returning to the dramatic arts, is surely key. It’s all coming on the heels of King Charles stripping his brother of all royal titles, honors and residences, which raises the question: When William ascends the throne, are Harry and Meghan next?” Callahan said.
Callahan also noted that Harry could likely be trying to reimmerse himself in the good graces of his royal family by being in Canada, where his father, Charles, is head of state.
She said that by Markle posting the video during the Andrew-related chaos, the duchess is showing that she and her husband are “happier than ever.”
“She is trying to prove that she and Harry are happier than ever — that they have not a care as Andrew is humiliated on the world stage and reintroduced as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, now and forever,” Callahan said.
“One possible translation: It is Meghan’s way of going back to Hollywood while her husband seemingly works his way back into the royal fold,” she added.
