Letitia James Copies Trump in Shocking Move

New York Attorney General Letitia James has pleaded not guilty in a federal fraud case brought forth by the Department of Justice.

James was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of bank fraud and making false statements to a financial institution.

Specifically, James is accused of using her property in Virginia as a rental investment rather than a secondary residence, as she initially reported.

Despite the accusations against her, James and her legal team are planning to file a motion to dismiss the case.

The Democratic New York attorney general notably prosecuted President Donald Trump in a high-profile hush-money case.

She ran her campaign to become the Big Apple’s attorney general on one message: “Get Trump.”

Despite her efforts, the case against the president was dismissed shortly after he was crowned the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

James indicted Trump in 2024 on charges that the president inflated the value of his properties to secure favorable loans.

In February 2024, a court dealt a devastating blow to Trump, siding with James’s demand that the president pay $450 million in the civil fraud case.

“Justice has been served,” James said at the time.

Trump appealed the court’s decision.

Over a year after the appeal, the $450 fine was voided, and Trump did not have to pay.

Following her not-guilty plea, James stormed out of a Virginia courtroom and delivered a speech to the press, saying she would remain defiant, as the Daily Mail reported.

The top Democrat appeared to mirror Trump, who would often speak to the media and declare his innocence after being indicted.

“I will not be deterred. I will not be distracted. I will do my job each and every day and that’s why I’m heading back to New York because there is work to be done,” she said.

James accused the Trump DOJ of being weaponized against her.

“This is about a justice system which has been weaponized. A justice system which has been used as a tool of revenge,” she said.

Fox News Washington, D.C., Correspondent David Spunt revealed in August that the DOJ was taking action against James for violating Trump’s constitutional rights during her investigation of him.

“Pam Bondi signed off on the probe. Subpoenas were sent to James’ office and a there is a grand jury underway in Albany,” Spunt said.

“DOJ Is going after James because she took then former president Donald Trump to court, ‘simply because she didn’t like him and campaigned on getting him,’” he added. “DOJ led by Bondi believes she violated his First Amendment rights dealing with free speech.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi faced hefty criticism after reports alleged that she was “caught off guard” by James’ indictment, brought forth by U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia Lindsey Halligan.
