Trump Attacks Canada With Fiery Move

In a new development, President Donald Trump has suspended all trade negotiations with Canada over an Ontario government advertisement that used former President Ronald Reagan to attack Trump.

The Ronald Reagan Foundation responded to Ontario’s advertisement, stating that the commercial used “selective” audio from one of Reagan’s most recognized speeches.

The foundation also pointed out that the Ontario Government did not seek permission to use such footage.

“The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute learned that the government of Ontario, Canada, created an ad campaign using selective audio and video of President Ronald Reagan delivering his ‘Radio Address to the Nation on Free and Fair Trade,’ dated April 25, 1987,” the organization wrote. “The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address, and the Government of Ontario did not seek nor recieve permission to use and edit the remarks.”

“The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is reviewing its legal options in this matter,” it added. “We encourage you to watch President Reagan’s unedited video on our YouTube channel.”

Trump then grilled the Canadian government on Truth Social for using a “fake” Reagan commercial, as the Daily Mail reported.

“The Ronald Reagan Foundation has just announced that Canada has fraudulently used an advertisement, which is FAKE, featuring Ronald Reagan speaking negatively about Tariffs,” he said.

“They only did this to interfere with the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court, and other courts. TARIFFS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY, AND ECONOMY, OF THE U.S.A. Based on their egregious behavior, ALL TRADE NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA ARE HEREBY TERMINATED. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DJT.”

Relations between the U.S. and Canada have been mediocre after Trump called on the U.S. to make Canada the 51st state of the Union.

Trump’s statements enraged Canadians, most notably Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

In fact, the president caused intense outrage in Canada when citizens of the country booed the U.S. National Anthem whenever their team played an American team.

For example, in the National Hockey League (NHL) championship between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers, the American national anthem was heavily booed in Canada.

In contrast, the Canadian national anthem was booed in Florida when the Panthers played at home.

Likewise, in February, the U.S. national hockey team competed against Canada in the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off.

Boos poured down in Canada when the Star Spangled Banner played, sparking a response from Vice President J.D. Vance.

The boos came weeks after Trump called on Canada to become the 51st U.S. state and following the president’s decision to impose tariffs on the country.

The U.S. national team went on to win the tournament against Canada, 3-1.
