A sniper suspect opened fire on a Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday morning, leaving multiple people dead, according to officials.
The attack, which targeted staff as they were unloading detained illegal immigrants, has sparked alarm across the state and renewed concerns about left-wing extremist violence against law enforcement.
The shooting occurred at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in Dallas. Witnesses reported chaos as gunfire erupted from a nearby rooftop, striking multiple people on the ground. Authorities said at least three individuals were hit, with one confirmed dead and two others in critical condition.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the casualties, stating that “multiple fatalities and injuries” had resulted from the attack. The shooter later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to early reports.
Videos shared online showed heavy police presence at the scene as officers secured the facility and searched surrounding buildings. Staff and detainees were quickly evacuated, while federal investigators arrived to take over the case.

The motive remains under investigation, but the attack comes just weeks after an Antifa-linked ambush shooting at another ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, in July. That earlier incident, allegedly tied to a North Texas Antifa cell, had already raised concerns about escalating violence directed at immigration enforcement.
Journalist Andy Ngo, who has extensively tracked Antifa activity, noted the parallels, writing: “This follows an Antifa ambush shooting at a nearby Alvarado ICE facility in July.”
CBS News reported that one person has died and two others are critically wounded in Wednesday’s shooting. Law enforcement officials have not yet released the identities of the victims or the shooter.
Commentators across social media quickly condemned the attack, calling it another example of the dangers faced by federal officers working in immigration enforcement. “And this is why the agents cover their faces. Leftists are homicidal,” political commentator John Cardillo wrote on X.
Federal and state authorities say the investigation is ongoing, with more details expected in the coming days.
