Trump Faces Possible DC Attack Amid Federal Crackdown: ‘Red Alert’

Federal authorities were alerted to a possible plot in Washington, D.C., targeting law enforcement officers, according to reports that surfaced Thursday.

The warning came as President Donald Trump’s federal crime crackdown in the city has already led to more than 1,000 arrests.

A federal source told Just the News that an red alert was issued Thursday describing the threat as imminent.

The group allegedly behind it calls itself the FLARE Coalition, which has been operating in the area near Union Station and Columbus Circle.

The notification said the group planned to disable federal vehicles by slashing tires and breaking windows.

Federal officers were warned to prepare for fireworks, improvised explosives, and chemical agents designed to “neutralize federal agents and take duty weapons.”

Officials said the group also identified Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel as specific targets. Federal law enforcement officers were put on notice that the threat could materialize as soon as Friday.

The FLARE Coalition has pushed for the release of unredacted Jeffrey Epstein files, while also demanding that Congress impeach Trump and remove him from office.

They claim to be a “non-violent anti-fascist collective,” but their alleged plans stand in direct contradiction to that claim, per the Conservative Brief.

Trump last month declared a public safety emergency in Washington, D.C., which placed the Metropolitan Police Department under federal control. That decision created the Safe and Beautiful Task Force, deployed National Guard troops, and directed federal officers to clean up crime-ridden areas of the city.

The takeover is set to expire next week unless Congress acts to extend it, but the White House is already touting major results. Trump officials said more than 1,000 people have been arrested during the crackdown.

Trump posted on Truth Social that the capital had become a “crime-free zone” and praised the success of the operation. He also commended Mayor Muriel Bowser for cooperating with federal officials during the emergency.

Bowser signed an order Tuesday requiring the city to continue coordinating with federal law enforcement even after Trump’s takeover expires. In her order, she acknowledged that “violent crime in the District has noticeably decreased” since federal authorities stepped in.

The mayor said she wanted to provide a pathway forward “beyond the Presidential emergency.” The order took effect immediately and does not expire.

The administration says the results have been undeniable. “The drops in crime are not ‘moderate,’ they are life-changing for the countless of DC residents and visitors who have not been murdered, robbed, carjacked, or victims of overall violent crime in the last week,” White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said.

Federal agencies have embedded alongside local police, carrying out arrests, executing search warrants, and patrolling in unmarked vehicles. Officials said immigration enforcement has also surged.

Since August 7, ICE has arrested about 300 illegal immigrants in D.C., compared to an average of just 12 arrests per week in the city during Trump’s first six months in office. The administration is crediting the increase with restoring public safety.

Conservative Brief confirmed Friday morning that no further details about the FLARE threat were available. Federal law enforcement remains on high alert as the crackdown continues.

The White House says it will not allow violent groups to derail its mission in the capital. Officials argue that the plan is working, and that Washington, D.C. is safer today than it has been in years.
