Pediatrician Fired After Sickening Post About Flood Victims Goes Viral

A pediatrician in Houston has been terminated after sparking outrage with a Facebook post suggesting that victims of the catastrophic Texas floods “got what they voted for” because of their political alignment with President Donald Trump.

Dr. Christina B. Propst, who had been affiliated with Blue Fish Pediatrics, faced immediate criticism after the post, shared under the alias “Chris Tina,” went viral.

In the post, Propst appeared to direct blame at residents of Kerr County, one of the regions most severely impacted by the disaster.

“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry,” she wrote. “Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts.”

The comment, captured and widely shared by Libs of TikTok, sparked a swift backlash across social media platforms, where users condemned the message as politically motivated, unprofessional and deeply insensitive to the families grieving loved ones lost in the flood.

The flooding, which swept through central Texas following days of torrential rain, claimed the lives of at least 80 individuals.

Among the hardest-hit locations was Camp Mystic, a Christian summer camp for girls located on the banks of the Guadalupe River.

Officials confirmed that 27 campers and counselors died in the flooding there alone.

Kerr County, where the camp is located, has a population of approximately 50,000 and voted heavily in favor of Trump in recent elections—over 76 percent in 2020, according to county records.

In response to the controversy, Blue Fish Pediatrics issued a statement clarifying Propst’s employment status.

“The individual is no longer employed,” the statement read. “That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics.”

Memorial Hermann Health System, a regional healthcare provider that partners with Blue Fish Pediatrics, also distanced itself from the remarks.

“We have zero tolerance for such rhetoric which does not reflect the mission, vision, or values of our system,” a spokesperson said, adding that Propst had never been directly employed by Memorial Hermann.

The Texas Medical Board weighed in as well.

Board president Dr. Sherif Zaafran noted that the agency had received inquiries about Propst and would “thoroughly investigate” any formal complaints.

As of now, no formal disciplinary proceedings have been initiated.

The online response was equally forceful.

“This is horrifying,” one commenter wrote.

“If she knows a patient is the child of MAGA parents, do you think she treats them differently or properly? Firing is not enough, she needs to lose her medical license,” another commented.

Amid the backlash, Propst appears to have removed her digital presence, the New York Post reports

Her professional profile pages on affiliated websites were deleted, and her Facebook account was altered.

Currently, no public statement has been made by Propst regarding the controversy.

The incident has ignited broader discussions around professional ethics in medicine and the politicization of disaster.

Critics argue that while healthcare professionals are entitled to personal views, public commentary that appears to ridicule or diminish suffering undermines public trust and can raise serious questions about medical impartiality.

Some also see the controversy as reflective of growing tensions in American public discourse, where tragedies are increasingly framed through partisan lenses.

As Texas communities continue to recover from the devastation, many are calling for a renewed focus on compassion and unity—values they say should transcend politics, especially in times of crisis.
