China announced on Saturday that it will impose new tariffs on certain Canadian agricultural and food products in response to Canada’s recent decision to levy import duties on Chinese electric vehicles, as well as steel and aluminum products.
According to a statement from China’s Ministry of Commerce, a 100 percent tariff will take effect on March 20 for Canadian rapeseed oil, oilcakes, and peas. Additionally, aquatic products and pork will be subject to an extra 25 percent tariff.
This is a breaking story.
